Throughout 2010, the K-pop scene witnessed comebacks, singles, and album releases from almost every single K-pop idol group in the industry today. Many groups achieved great success with their digital and album sales. The end-of-year Daesang Awards revealed which artists did exceptionally well during 2010. However, exactly how much did each group sell?
GAON recently published its 2010 Top 20 Album and Digital Sales charts. Most conspicuous on the album chart were SM Entertainment artists, who dominated the top 4 positions. Another notable achievement was YG Entertainment’s G-Dragon & TOP album, which was released in December yet managed to earn the title of 2010’s 5th most sold album. The album beat out SHINee, 2NE1, 2PM, JYJ, and many other top artists.
2010’s Top 20 Digital Comprehensive rankings were decided based on online streaming, downloads, BGM sales, and mobile services. Notable in the digital section was Miss A. Although the girls only debuted in 2010, they received fist place for their first single “Bad Girl Good Girl”. Also very interesting was that the second and third ranks on the digital chart belonged to solo artists–IU and MC Mong.
The third chart ranks 2010’s top 20 most downloaded songs.
The fourth chart shows the top 20 most streamed songs of 2010.
The fifth and last chart showed the top 20 most used mobile songs of 2010.
