We saw the preview of Lee Joon and Thunder’s Kiss Parody. Now we have the full parody. It’s just a small part of the song though. But I should say, the siblings really look a like!
After setting the kpop scene on fire with their debut song and I Don’t Care, 2NE1’s been on the DL and off the kpop radar for a few months now. Well, until they released Try to Copy Me on February 8. Although this song was released for an endorsement with Corby, 2NE1’s song has already scaled its way up the music charts to battle it out with Oh!, SNSD’s comeback song. Continue reading

So ANYWAY, me and my friend stayed at my korean friend’s place. We were to be staying only in Seoul for about 10 days, and we were DESPERATE to at least have some sort of celeb sighting. I mean, come on, we didn’t fly all the way (from Australia) for just the food and awesome shopping! As luck had it, my korean friend’s father had ‘connections’ so we were able to get tickets to Inkigayo on the 20th of Dec 09. I’m not kidding: when I found out that we’d actually get to SEE all these amazing artists LIVE I nearly wet my pants. Seriously. My friends and I were spazzing because we’re pretty much YG Family fans, and TaeYang and CL/Minzy were promoting at that time.
Anyway, it turned out that CL/Minzy would be performing we were like ‘HOLYSHIA;LKSDJFALKSJDF&^%$^&)(*^!!!!!!’ and I think I nearly fainted. So the big day came, and Sunday finally arrived. We got to the SBS studios place and lined up. While we lined up my korean friend got a call from her dad’s ‘connection’ (aka some guy working at SBS). The conversation basically went like this (in english version):
SBS GUY: Hello! You must be <insert name here>, how are you?
FRIEND: Good thank you! Thank you so much for organising this, we really appreciate it. How are your family?
*more small talk and polite words…lol*
SBS GUY: So uh… did you guys bring a camera?
*me and my friends spazzing in the background… and getting weird looks from the fangirls/fanboys haha*
FRIEND: (sweetly) Oh… yeah we did. Hehe.
SBS GUY: Oh that’s good… So who’s your favourite artist?
*me and my friends spazzing double-time*
FRIEND: Oh, you know.. 2NE1… CL and Minzy. ^^
SBS GUY: Ah I see, are you guys like, YG Family people?
*me and my friends completely freaking out now and nodding in the background*
FRIEND: Haha… yeah. <She’s trying to play cool. Haha.>
….anyway, and then they finished the conversation etc. Because of the ‘connection’ we got to go in early and look at quite a few rehearsals etc. It was SO fricking weird seeing people like shinee, t-ara and YounHa rehearsing… They’re all so little in real life! -Oh, and I know everyone always says this but DAMN, Jonghyun is like… a munchkin. He’s the tiniest thing I’ve ever seen, and I’m pretty small myself. Lol.
So halfway through T-ara’s rehearsal, my friend’s dad’s ‘connection’ (aka some guy working at the station) came and got us. He was like ‘so uh… follow me.’ At the exact moment I just looked at one of my friends and mouthed ‘OH. MY. GOD.’ The SBS guy lead us up all these winding stairs and finally to this open space-ish area. He was like ‘oh why don’t we take some photos of you here at the station… while we wait for CL/Minzy to join you.’
Me: …. *SPAZZESSSSSSSS in my head… tries to stop shaking and be non-fangirly*
So we took a group photo of us and all of a sudden these girls walk past… and my friend goes ‘OMG that’s DARA!’ Lol… Dara walked past and smiled and nodded and hurried into CL/Minzy’s room. (She’s really cute btw! REALLY petite, and she had the hairstyle that CL always does for her ^^ Sorry, I can’t remember what she calls it right now… but it’s always on 2NE1TV.) Then the SBS guy took another photo with my camera and was like
‘OK everyone? Ha…. dhooll… -’
and all of a sudden, TEDDY PARK WALKS PAST! (He yelled out ‘seht’ if you didn’t catch on. lol.) He grinned and walked towards CL/Minzy’s room and I was like ‘HOLY SH#! THAT’S TEDDY!‘
…He’s really hot. Like, really, really good looking in real life. He was wearing the usual leopard-print cap with hoodie and hands in the pockets. Absolute hotness.

Discovery Asia will feature a special on 2009 World champion Yu-Na Kim later this month. “Hip Korea: Yu-Na Kim — Seoul Spirit” will premieres on the Discovery Channel South East Asia on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. and on Discovery Channel North Asia on March 9 at 10 p.m.
The show will take a look into Kim’s life to reveal why she is Korea’s golden girl. Still in her teens, the South Korean superstar is on the verge of becoming one of the greatest figure skaters in history.
In the capital city of Seoul, Kim’s influence as a role model for the growing power of Korean women extends beyond the ice skating rink. Through interviews with Korea’s first astronaut So-Yeon Yi and the hottest new girl-group 2NE1, the special will outline how Kim is seen as a leader of a hip young generation of Korean women who are coming of age in the 21st century.
